Lane shifts and closures to affect several Columbia streets, May 4-5
Rezul News/10734130
(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia residents should be aware of upcoming road work that will affect traffic on multiple streets in the city. According to a press release from the City of Columbia Public Works department, Engineering Surveys and Services will be conducting pavement testing on East Green Meadows Road and Veterans United Parkway on May 4-5, 2026.
This work is part of preparations for a future capital improvement project, with construction expected to take place in 2027-28. The testing will begin at 5:30 a.m. and end at 7 p.m. each day. During this time, driving lanes will be shifted to allow traffic to use center turn lanes while the testing is being conducted.
Drivers are advised to use caution in the area and watch out for workers and equipment. The City of Columbia urges residents to plan their routes accordingly and allow for extra travel time during these two days.
