~ Kansas City Water (KC Water) has announced proposed revisions and updates to their Rules and Regulations for Water Service Lines and Water Main Extensions and Relocations. The changes aim to streamline and clarify language within the documents, as well as update permit costs.

A draft of the proposed Rules and Regulations, along with a summary of major changes and provisions, can be found on the KC Water website at www.kcwater.us/projects/rulesandregulations. The public is invited to review these documents before a virtual Public Meeting on Wednesday, April 1st, 2026 at 2 p.m. CST.

The meeting will be held online at "Rules and Regulations update meeting" on Microsoft Teams (https://teams.microsoft.com/meet/22444813732185...). The Meeting ID is 224 448 137 321 85 with a passcode of yR9H6Tp6. For those unable to join online, there is also an option to call in at 872-212-5076 (toll) with Conference ID 459 087 709#.

Comments on the proposed changes can be submitted during the virtual Public Meeting or in writing via email to Travis.Kiefer@kcmo.org. Written comments can also be sent by U.S. Mail or delivered in person to Travis W Kiefer, P.E., Permitting & Development Divisions Head, KC Water, City Hall 5th Floor (East), 414 E. 12th St., Kansas City, MO 64106. All written comments must be received by KC Water by Friday, May 1st, 2026 at 4 p.m. CST.
