~ Kansas City Water Issues Precautionary Boil Water Advisory in NW Tiffany Springs Area
In response to a recent water main break, KC Water has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for customers in the area of NW Tiffany Springs Pkwy, east of NW Skyview Ave. The advisory is being issued out of an abundance of caution due to a loss of positive pressure on the water main during repairs.
According to KC Water, a repair timeline is still being determined and customers are advised to follow certain guidelines until further notice. These guidelines include boiling all drinking water for at least three minutes before use, letting it cool sufficiently before consumption. Customers are also advised not to use un-boiled tap water for making ice or preparing food.
In addition, dishes and food contact surfaces should be disinfected using tap water that contains one teaspoon of household bleach per gallon. While the tap water is safe for bathing, small children should be discouraged from swallowing bath water. However, boiled water can be used for brushing teeth.
