Kansas: KC Water is teaming up with Spire, Evergy and other organizations to provide utility assistance

~ Kansas City, MO - On Thursday, June 12th, representatives from KC Water will be joining forces with Spire, Evergy, and the Mid-America Assistance Coalition (MAAC) to host a community event at Reconciliation Services. The event will take place at 3101 Troost Ave and aims to provide assistance to customers who are struggling with their utility bills.

The team from KC Water will be on hand to guide customers through the various assistance options available, including LIHEALP. They will also assist in the application process for any necessary support. In order to receive help, attendees are required to bring a recent home energy bill for the account they need assistance with. Additionally, copies of social security cards and birth dates for all household members are needed. If the household currently receives food stamps, only social security numbers and birth dates are required.

Income documentation such as pay stubs from the previous month, award letters, pension letters, or bank statements from the previous month may also be requested. However, if the household currently receives food stamps, income documentation is not necessary.
