ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Rezul -- Jury Acquits Robert Jack Geller in Tok Hunting Accident Case
On Friday, August 9, 2025, a 12-person jury in Tok, Alaska returned a verdict of not guilty on all charges against Robert Jack Geller, concluding a four-day trial that stemmed from a tragic hunting accident in 2021.
Mr. Geller had been charged with manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide in connection with the accidental death of his hunting partner, Michael Easley, on September 11, 2021.
The trial included emotional testimony from both Mr. Easley's son and Mr. Geller himself. After careful deliberation, the jury unanimously found that the evidence did not support a conviction, clearing Mr. Geller of all charges.

"This was a truly tragic situation," said Steven Wells, counsel for Mr. Geller. "Mr. Geller's remorse was evident in his testimony, and he fully recognizes the magnitude of this loss to the Easley family. We are grateful that the jury understood that this was not a crime, but a terrible accident."
The verdict brings to a close nearly four years of legal proceedings for Mr. Geller, who expressed deep sorrow for the loss of his friend while maintaining his innocence throughout the case.
