Juneau: Residents Invited to Dimond Park Field House Elevator Ribbon Cutting on July 23

~ Juneau's Dimond Park Field House has recently undergone a major improvement, making it more accessible for all members of the community. The City and Borough of Juneau Parks & Recreation department has announced the completion of a new elevator at the facility, which will greatly benefit field house users.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, July 23 at noon to mark the official opening of the elevator. This addition will allow visitors with mobility needs to easily access the indoor mezzanine and public walking track, creating a more inclusive space for all.

The construction of this project began in June 2025 and was completed in July 2026. Contractors worked diligently to integrate the elevator with the building's fire alarm system and ensure its safety through rigorous state inspections.
