Juneau: Hotline for Glacial Lake Outburst Flood Now Taking Calls

~ Juneau, Alaska - The City and Borough of Juneau has announced the launch of a new Flood Information Hotline to assist residents with non-emergency questions and concerns related to the 2026 glacial lake outburst flood. The hotline, available at 907-500-0890, will operate on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to city officials, once Suicide Basin is filled and the flood event begins, the hotline will extend its operating hours to include weekends from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition, once the flood is in progress and a wireless emergency alert text message is sent out, the hotline will transition to 24/7 operations.
