LAS VEGAS - Rezul -- Jo Cato, President & CEO of The Periwinkle Group, has been named a 2025 honoree of the Women Inspiring Nevada awards presented by Vegas Inc. The recognition, featured in Las Vegas Weekly, celebrates visionary women who lead, inspire, and shape Southern Nevada through excellence in leadership, philanthropy, and mentorship.
Cato, widely regarded as a powerhouse and innovator, oversees a multi-billion-dollar conglomerate that spans airport concessions and retail, digital media, workforce development, and global consulting. Her ventures include Grab & Go Vending, Cruzin Vegas—Nevada's only Black woman-owned mobile digital billboard company—and iRecruit International, a workforce development and placement agency. At the helm of The Periwinkle Group, she leads multicultural marketing, outreach, and public affairs initiatives with offices across the United States, Jamaica, Nigeria, and Ghana.
Her achievements have earned recognition on both national and international stages. She was named to the prestigious Forbes 50 Over 50 (2025) list, standing out as one of only seven Jamaican women worldwide to receive this honor. She has also been inducted into the Nevada Women's Hall of Fame and was named the Small Business Administration's Woman-Owned Business of the Year for the State of Nevada—cementing her reputation as a leader who builds enterprises that fuel economic growth while empowering communities.

Cato's journey began with resilience. An immigrant from Jamaica and proud alumna of Holy Childhood High School, she arrived in the United States with just $20 in her pocket. Through determination and bold leadership, she transformed that humble beginning into an empire that not only drives industries but also creates opportunities for others.
"Being recognized among such extraordinary women is both humbling and energizing," said Cato. "This award is a reminder that when we lead with purpose and positivity, we not only transform industries but also strengthen the fabric of our community."
This honor underscores Cato's lasting legacy of advancing equity, innovation, and opportunity through her businesses, public affairs expertise, and community engagement.
