It's Smarter to Work Harder™ Nudges Bestselling Author Dr. Gary Goodman
Rezul News/10680433
His Newest Book Says, "Do What You Hate & Your Bliss Will Follow"
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Rezul -- Like millions of others, Gary Goodman haunted the self-improvement stacks at his local bookstore. He found Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends & Influence People," to be a practical spur to action. It was made even more vivid when he discovered his college speech teacher, a real dynamo, had been one of Carnegie's first contract instructors.
Inspired, Goodman would add several of his own titles to the practical literature on how to succeed.
"But then, over the course of a few decades, the message changed. Don't work harder or even work smarter, but work less," says Goodman.
"Magical thinking took over," Goodman says. He cites books that tout a supposed Law of Attraction. They say, if you want something, don't strive hard to get it, just imagine it coming to you, and it will.
Perhaps the greatest proponent of this do less and get more, eat dessert first thinking according to Goodman, was Joseph Campbell's call to "Follow your bliss." Campbell, a scholar on myths, "Created one of his own," Goodman asserts.

Now, we have a culture that believes hard work is for fools, that the way to get ahead is to aimlessly lag behind. That less is more, especially when it comes to sacrificing the "Now" for a better future.
Goodman's Do What You Hate & Your Bliss Will Follow sets the record straight. It says, "It's smarter to work harder™," while providing an action plan for succeeding through greater productivity and no-nonsense thinking. Published by the motivation masters at Nightingale Conant, it is available online in audio book format at Audible, where you can hear a free sample:
