~ Idaho Falls Zoo to Open Early for 2026 Season on April 16
The Idaho Falls Zoo has announced that it will be opening its gates for the 2026 season one week earlier than usual, on Thursday, April 16. This highly anticipated opening is due to favorable weather conditions and invites both residents and visitors to once again experience the Zoo's remarkable wildlife and engaging educational opportunities.
In addition to the early opening, the Zoo has also updated its operating hours for the 2026 season. It will now be open Monday through Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended hours on Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Last admission is 30 minutes prior to closing.
Visitors can look forward to exploring a diverse collection of over 230 individual animals representing more than 90 species from around the world. "We're thrilled to open our gates early this year and welcome everyone back to the Zoo," said Executive Director David Pennock. "By expanding access through updated hours, we're making it easier for families and visitors to spend time with wildlife, learn something new, and create lasting memories together."

General admission rates for the 2026 season are as follows: Adults (13-61) - $12.50, Seniors (62+) - $11.00, Children (3-12) - $9.50, Toddlers/Infants (2 & under) - $0.50, Military (with valid ID) - $9.50, and Zoo Members (with valid membership) - Free.
Aside from daily visits, the Zoo also offers a variety of educational programs and special events throughout the season including camps and classes for children and teens ages 2-17.
