Can non-citizen U.S. residents get help from FEMA?
Not only U.S. citizens but U.S. nationals and legal residents may be eligible for FEMA assistance. Any household member with citizenship, U.S. nationality and legal permanent resident status – and who have a social security number – can apply for assistance.
Can I get reimbursement by FEMA for cleanup immediately after a disaster?
FEMA recommends doing cleanup as soon as possible and to document the damage. Keep receipts and apply for reimbursement. Someone will be sent to the home to determine how much of the damage was caused by the storm.

No, FEMA does not affect social security, taxes due, public assistance and other entitlement programs.
How can I appeal a decision by FEMA?
