~ Residents of Mesa, Arizona have the opportunity to make a real impact in their community by serving on the city's advisory boards and committees. The City of Mesa is hosting a special open house on Tuesday, March 3 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Post, located at 26 N. Macdonald.
This interactive event will allow attendees to learn about current and upcoming openings on 17 advisory boards and committees. City staff will be present to answer questions and provide information on how residents' skills, experience, and passion can help shape local policies, programs, and services.
The advisory boards and committees in Mesa play a crucial role in advising city leadership and the City Council on issues that directly affect the community. From arts and culture to transportation, public safety, sustainability, and neighborhood quality of life, there are various opportunities for residents to get involved and make a difference.

To be eligible for these positions, applicants must be at least 18 years old, a resident of Mesa, and willing to serve a three-year term with a two-term limit. At the open house event, prospective applicants can select up to three boards or committees that interest them. Applications are then reviewed by the City Clerk's Office.
If there are no current vacancies on a particular board or committee, applications are kept on file for up to 18 months for future consideration. Ultimately, board appointments are recommended by the Mayor and approved by the City Council.
