Free workshop helps Colorado Springs renters understand their rights
Rezul News/10730537
~ Colorado Springs residents will have the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge on navigating rental agreements, repairs, deposits, and eviction regulations at a free workshop on Tuesday, March 24. The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at Penrose Library's Columbine Room B (20 N. Cascade Ave.) and will also be available online. The workshop is being hosted by the City's Housing and Homelessness Response Department in partnership with various community organizations.
The goal of the workshop is to educate attendees on landlord-tenant laws, reduce conflicts related to housing, and connect them with local resources that promote housing stability. Led by Colorado Legal Services attorney Clinton Albert, the session will cover important renter rights and responsibilities, as well as topics like reasonable accommodations and eviction processes. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about organizations in the area that offer housing and legal assistance. A Q&A session will follow the presentation; however, presenters are unable to provide individual legal advice.
