Former Abingdon Mayor Plans for the Release of His New Book

ABINGDON, Va. - Rezul -- Jan-Carol Publishing, Inc., of Blountville, Tennessee, is thrilled to announce Edward B. Morgan's upcoming book release party on Sunday, September 27^th.

Edward Morgan has lived in Southwest Virginia for three-quarters of a century. He is a graduate of Emory & Henry University and a recipient of a Ford Foundation Rural Leadership Development Fellowship. He and his wife, Helen, live in Abingdon, Virginia, where he served as Mayor. Edward has extensive outdoor experience including hiking, hunting, fishing, caving, and bird watching.

Morgan's book, Notes on the State of Southwest Virginia: Reflections on the Biodiversity of Our Region, highlights that Southwest Virginia holds the greatest concentration of biodiversity in the continental United States. Through essay and memoir, the author explores this unique and unappreciated resource and some of the men and women who identified and strove to preserve it.
