Evansville: Applications Open for 20262027 Mayors Youth Advisory Council
Rezul News/10744516
EVANSVILLE, Ind. — September 2, 2026 — Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry today announced that applications are now open for the 2026–2027 Mayor's Youth Advisory Council (MYAC).
The council is seeking students grades 8–12 who are interested in civic engagement, community service, and making a meaningful impact in the community. MYAC brings together a representative group of young people from across Evansville to share their perspectives and provide the Mayor with insight on issues impacting the City's youth.
"Young people have valuable ideas and perspectives that can strengthen our community," said Mayor Stephanie Terry. "MYAC provides an opportunity for students to turn those ideas into action, connect with community leaders, and play an active role in shaping Evansville's future."
Throughout a 10-month term, members of MYAC will work collaboratively on youth-focused solutions, participate in service-learning projects, and engage directly with community leaders. The Council will meet monthly, with additional meetings as needed to support project work.
This year's Council will include 20 members. The City is seeking a diverse group of students with representation from all five city wards. Finalists may be invited to participate in an in-person interview.
