Integral Group CEO and pioneer of the "Atlanta Model" recognized for transformative community development and urban revitalization

ATLANTA - Rezul -- Egbert L. J. Perry, Chairman and CEO of Integral Group, has been selected as a 2025 LEDI International Life Changers Award Honoree. He will be honored at LEDI's milestone 10th Annual International Life Changers Awards and Fundraising Gala, themed "The Time Is Now," on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 5:30 PM at the Marriott Gateway Hotel Atlanta Airport.

A native of Antigua and Barbuda, Perry has dedicated his career to reshaping cities through visionary models that combine economic opportunity, equity, and sustainability. He is widely known for pioneering the "Atlanta Model" of community redevelopment, first realized in Centennial Place in 1996. This groundbreaking mixed-use, mixed-income neighborhood replaced one of Atlanta's most troubled housing projects with a vibrant community integrating housing, education, recreation, retail, and green space. Lauded by HUD as a National Model, Centennial Place has since inspired more than 250 similar developments nationwide and positioned Perry as a leading voice in urban planning and policy.

From his early work with Herman Russell and H.J. Russell & Co. to his current role at Integral, Perry has demonstrated how large-scale urban projects can restore communities, attract investment, and expand access to housing and services. To date, Integral has developed over 10,000 housing units and scores of mixed-use projects across the United States, with significant impact in the Southeast. On the national stage, Perry served as Chairman of the Board of Fannie Mae, helping guide the institution through post-crisis recovery and reform.

By insisting on models that combine affordability with quality and by advancing public-private partnerships, Perry has raised standards for urban redevelopment. "Egbert Perry's visionary leadership has transformed how we think about economic development and reinforced my belief in the importance of public-private partnerships," said Rufus Darkortey, Co-Founder and President of LEDI. "Mr. Perry is widely recognized for his success in real estate, but we are thrilled to honor him for his social and humanitarian impact. His projects have improved countless lives and revitalized communities for generations to come. He embodies the spirit of a LEDI International Life Changer," said Joan Curran Darkortey, LEDI Co-Founder and CEO.
