Expanded availability gives patients in Southeast Georgia greater access to non-invasive TMS therapy for depression
SAVANNAH, Ga. - Rezul -- Expanded availability gives patients in Southeast Georgia greater access to non-invasive TMS therapy for depression
SAVANNAH, Ga. and STATESBORO, Ga. — August 30, 2026 — DPS Health and Wellness has expanded its mental health treatment services and is now providing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment in both Savannah and Statesboro, Georgia.
The expansion is designed to make TMS more accessible to people throughout Southeast Georgia who are struggling with depression, including patients who have not experienced sufficient improvement with antidepressant medications or other traditional treatment approaches.
"TMS gives us another important option for patients whose depression has not responded the way they hoped to traditional treatments," said Dr. David Samuels of DPS Health and Wellness. "By offering TMS in both Savannah and Statesboro, we can make this treatment more convenient and accessible to patients in the communities we serve."

A Non-Invasive Treatment Option for Depression
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation uses targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. TMS is FDA-cleared for certain conditions, including major depressive disorder.
Unlike more invasive procedures, TMS does not require surgery or anesthesia. Patients remain awake during treatment, and sessions are performed on an outpatient basis. Most patients can return to their normal activities following a treatment session.
For people who have tried antidepressant medications without achieving adequate relief, TMS may provide another treatment option to discuss with a qualified healthcare provider.
Expanding Access Beyond Savannah
The availability of TMS treatment in Statesboro is particularly important for patients who previously may have needed to travel farther for this type of care.
With services now available in both Savannah and Statesboro, DPS Health and Wellness can provide TMS consultations and treatment to patients from a broader area of Southeast Georgia.

Each patient is evaluated individually to determine whether TMS is an appropriate treatment option based on their symptoms, medical history and previous treatment.
