IRONDALE, Ala., April 2, 2024 ~ As the NFL season comes to a close, fans are gearing up for a different kind of event - EWTN's Divine Mercy Sunday Preview Show and Mass. This star-studded program will feature some familiar names from the football world, as well as other inspiring individuals who have found their calling in the Catholic Church.

One of the most recognizable names on the lineup is former NFL quarterback Elvis Grbac. Known for his time with the San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Baltimore Ravens, Grbac has since turned his focus to theology and is currently finishing his master's degree in the subject. During the Preview Show, he will share his thoughts on "The Father's Love Should be Our Love."

Another football player-turned-Catholic is Ben Steele, who played for six NFL teams including the 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and Green Bay Packers. Steele is now an assistant coach for the Arizona Cardinals and has a special ministry of making handmade rosaries for men to promote devotion to Our Lady. He will be discussing "Winning One Bead at a Time: Strengthening My Faith with the Rosary" during the program.

But it's not just football players who will be featured on this special day. Jim Wahlberg, brother of actor Mark Wahlberg, will also make an appearance. As executive producer of "Mother Teresa: No Greater Love," Wahlberg has made a name for himself in Catholic media. He will share his personal story of addiction and redemption in a talk titled "A Boston Street Kid's Story of Addiction and Redemption."

In addition to these inspiring speakers, viewers can also look forward to performances by soloist Ashley Nemeh during the Preview Show. Nemeh is a multifaceted recording artist and songwriter who has collaborated with Grammy-winning producers and writers. She now uses her voice to honor the Blessed Mother in all her work.

Of course, all of this leads up to the main event - Divine Mercy Sunday Mass. The Most Reverend Timothy P. Broglio, JCD, Archbishop of the Archdiocese for Military Services, USA, will celebrate the Mass live from the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Mass. This powerful and moving Mass will begin at 1 p.m. ET.
