CPPS to Host Webinar on the Revised ASIS Workplace Violence Prevention and Intervention Standard
Rezul News/10749262
Three CPPS team members who served on the ASIS technical committee will walk through what changed and how organizations can put the new standard to work.
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - Rezul -- The Center for Personal Protection and Safety (CPPS) will host a live online session on November 5, 2026, covering the newly revised ASIS International workplace violence prevention and intervention standard. The session will be led by three CPPS team members who served on the technical committee responsible for the revision.
The revised standard updates ANSI/ASIS WVPI AA-2020 and has been approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). [It is expected to publish in late October. / It was published on (date).] The standard sets the recognized framework for how organizations identify, assess, respond to, and mitigate threatening behavior and violence in the workplace. The revision moves the standard toward a requirements-based management system, giving organizations a clearer benchmark for building and auditing their programs.

Chuck St. Pierre, PhD, CTM, will lead Jake Newton, [title], and Jameson Ritter, CTM, CPP, PSP, PCI, Director of Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management, through their experience on the committee. The session will cover what changed in this version of the standard, how organizations should use it as a working tool for workplace violence prevention and intervention, and an open Q&A with attendees.
CPPS has also published a resource page to help organizations prepare for the revised standard. The page covers what the standard is, what's changing, and what it means for an existing program. It's available at cpps.com/new-asis-ansi-standard.
"This revision changes what a defensible program looks like. Three of our people helped shape it, and organizations deserve to hear what changed from people who were in the room. We want leaders to leave the session knowing exactly where their program stands and what to do next," said Korey Staley, Vice President of CPPS.
