Columbia: Temporary closure announced for yard waste drop-off site

Rezul News/10706818
(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ The City of Columbia's yard waste drop-off site at Capen Park has reached its maximum capacity, resulting in its closure. According to the City of Columbia Solid Waste Utility, the site will be closed to the public while crews begin grinding the yard waste material into mulch this week. The closure is necessary to ensure efficient operations by the contractor and to guarantee the safety of facility users.

The grinding process is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 2 and is expected to be completed by July 5, when the site will reopen. In the meantime, customers can still dispose of their yard waste at the Parkside location and the landfill composting facility. It is important to note that there will be no fee for disposing of yard waste at the landfill's composting facility.
