Columbia: South Sixth Street closed between East Stewart Road and Elm Street, Nov. 24-26

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - On Monday, November 24th at 7 a.m., South Sixth Street between East Stewart Road and Elm Street will be closed by Twehous Excavating Company, contractors for the University of Missouri. The closure is necessary for the contractor to locate underground utilities and ensure they do not interfere with future plans for a University of Missouri steam tunnel.

The closure will span approximately 500 feet of South Sixth Street, north of East Stewart Road. Drivers will be directed around the work area by detour signs.
While all sidewalks will remain open, multiple metered parking spaces will be closed. "No parking" signs will be placed on affected meters at least 24 hours in advance.
Weather permitting, the road is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26th. The closure and subsequent reopening are part of the University's ongoing efforts to improve its infrastructure.
