Columbia Police make significant arrest and fentanyl seizure

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police Department, in collaboration with the North Missouri Drug Task Force, conducted a successful operation on December 8th to combat fentanyl trafficking in the city. The operation resulted in the arrest of 61-year-old Frazier Pratt and the seizure of approximately 1.4 pounds of suspected fentanyl, along with three firearms.

The CPD's Vice, Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit had been conducting an ongoing investigation into fentanyl trafficking when they obtained two search warrants. With the assistance of the North Missouri Drug Task Force, they were able to execute these warrants and make a significant arrest.

Frazier Pratt, a resident of Columbia, was charged with one count of drug trafficking and three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm. The seized amount of fentanyl is estimated to be enough for 6,350 user-level doses. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, even as little as two milligrams of fentanyl can be fatal depending on an individual's body size and tolerance.

CPD Lieutenant Neal Sedgwick stated that this seizure is a major accomplishment in their efforts to protect the public from dangerous drugs. He also emphasized that fentanyl continues to have devastating effects on the community and that they are determined to prevent it from reaching their neighborhoods.

The Columbia Police Department expressed their gratitude towards the North Missouri Drug Task Force for their assistance in this investigation.
