Colorado Springs: Mountain Metro seeks comments on spring Service Change
Rezul News/10726029
~ Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT) has announced a series of proposed service changes that are set to take effect on March 29, 2026. These changes aim to improve public transit in the Pikes Peak Region and have been carefully considered by MMT.
One of the key proposed changes is the transformation of Route 3 into a zero-fare route. This will make it more accessible for riders and encourage more people to use public transportation. Additionally, the weekday daytime frequency for this route will increase from 30 to 15 minutes, providing more frequent service for commuters.
Weekend riders will also see improvements with Route 5, as its daytime frequency will increase from 30 to 15 minutes. Similarly, Routes 10 and 11 will have increased weekend daytime frequencies of 30 minutes and new Saturday evening service at a frequency of 60 minutes.
In order to streamline services, Route 20 will be eliminated and its needs will be met through expanded Routes 10 and 11 on weekends. This change is expected to improve efficiency and provide better service for riders.

Other changes include increased weekend daytime service for Route 25 from 30 to 15 minutes, a slight adjustment in weekday daytime frequency for THE ZEB Downtown Shuttle from seven to ten minutes, and the addition of two new stops near Uintah St. and17th St. for Route 17.
Furthermore, MMT has made efforts to improve rider access by ending the last trip of Route 33 at Dillon Mobility Hub. This move is expected to benefit riders who rely on this route for transportation.
In addition, Route40 will now operate year-round when other routes are running with extended weekday hours. This change aims to provide consistent service throughout the year.
MMT is encouraging all riders and community members to review these proposed changes and share their input through an online survey or by calling Customer Service at (719)385-7433. The deadline for comments is February 5, 2026. More information on these changes can be found on MMTRANSIT.COM. MMT is committed to shaping the future of transit in the Pikes Peak Region and values the feedback of its riders and community members.
