~ Mesa, AZ - The City of Mesa has announced the appointment of Joe Giudice as its new Water Resources Director. Giudice officially took on the role on February 23, following the retirement of Chris Hassert. As the head of the Water Resources Department, Giudice will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and reliable water service for residents and businesses in Mesa.

City Manager Scott Butler expressed his confidence in Giudice's abilities, stating that he brings decades of public sector leadership experience and a strong commitment to service. With his extensive background in utilities, environmental programs, and public works, Giudice is well-suited to lead Mesa's Water Resources Department and build upon the foundation established by his predecessor and the rest of the team.

Giudice's career spans over three decades, during which he has held various leadership positions focused on protecting public health and delivering essential city services. Most recently, he served as Mesa's Deputy Solid Waste Director. Prior to joining Mesa, he had a distinguished career with the City of Phoenix where he retired as Public Works Director after also serving as Assistant Water Services Director, Director of Environmental Programs, and Fleet Services Director.
