City of Evansville Launches Interactive Climate Action Dashboard
Rezul News/10732519
EVANSVILLE, Ind. ~ Evansville, Indiana - The City of Evansville has taken a major step towards building a cleaner and more sustainable community with the launch of its digital Climate Action Dashboard. This interactive tool, developed in collaboration with ClimateNav, a startup focused on helping local governments decarbonize and promote sustainability, will track the city's progress towards its 2025 Climate Action Plan goals.
Mayor Terry expressed his excitement about the new dashboard, stating that it will help the city make informed decisions and monitor progress towards creating a greener and more resilient Evansville. The project was funded through a U.S. Department of Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant.
The dashboard provides a comprehensive view of the city's efforts to reduce carbon emissions across five key sectors: energy, transportation, land, waste, and resilience. Users can explore historical data and compare projections under different scenarios to see the impact of implementing strategies outlined in the Climate Action Plan.
One of the main features of the dashboard is its ability to highlight actionable ways for residents and businesses to participate in local sustainability efforts. This includes promoting public transit use, upgrading to energy-efficient appliances, and completing home energy assessments. Users can also learn about various sustainability programs and initiatives being implemented by the city.
