(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ The City of Columbia is offering residents the opportunity to get involved in local government by accepting applications for various boards and commissions. These positions allow individuals to represent the voices of their community and have a say in important decisions.

Interested applicants can find the necessary forms on the City's website, CoMo.gov. The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, and all applications must be received by the City Clerk's Office.

There are currently openings for several boards and commissions, including the Board of Adjustment, Building Construction Codes Commission, Collegiate Advisory Council, Columbia Sports Commission, Finance Advisory and Audit Committee, Firefighters' Retirement Board, Historic Preservation Commission, Human Services Commission, Mayor's Council on Physical Fitness and Health, Personnel Advisory Board, Police Retirement Board, and Tobacco Retailer License Review Board.
