Rezul News/10730022
(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia, in collaboration with the Loop Community Improvement District and the Missouri Department of Transportation, has announced the launch of a new project aimed at improving the I-70 Business Loop corridor. This effort is made possible by a $2 million Reconnecting Communities Planning Grant and will focus on evaluating the current state of the corridor while identifying opportunities for long-term enhancements.
The project will primarily focus on improving transportation along the Business Loop and enhancing its overall appearance and functionality. Some potential improvements being considered include upgraded sidewalks, better pedestrian and bicycle connections, improved stormwater management, beautification features, and redesigned intersections. To assist with this project, Great River Engineering has been hired as consultants to review existing conditions and develop potential design concepts for future capital improvements along the corridor.
