BIRMINGHAM, Ala., May 19, 2025 ~ Books-A-Million, a leading bookstore chain, has recently announced the promotion of two of its employees in the Real Estate department. Rick Franz has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Real Estate, while Jack Fleming has been promoted to Vice President of Real Estate.
Rick Franz joined Books-A-Million and quickly made a significant impact on the company's stores and team. With his strategic insight and leadership skills, he has played a crucial role in shaping the future of store positioning and growth. In his new role as Executive Vice President, Rick will continue to drive the company's success in the years ahead. He currently resides in Phoenix with his wife and enjoys spending quality time with their grandchildren.

Jack Fleming has been a valuable member of the Real Estate department for the past three years. His hard work and dedication have earned him a promotion to Vice President of Real Estate. In this new role, Jack will be responsible for managing Books-A-Million's existing assets while also identifying opportunities for new store openings. He lives in Charleston with his wife and baby boy, and is often accompanied by his dog, Bill, at the office.
In addition to these promotions, Books-A-Million is also excited to welcome Pete Turner as their new Real Estate Manager. Pete graduated from Auburn University in 2020 and brings valuable experience in commercial underwriting from his time at Regions Bank. He joined Books-A-Million in April and is based in Dallas.
The company is confident that these changes will play a pivotal role in their continued success as they expand and innovate. They invite everyone to join them in congratulating Rick and Jack on their well-deserved promotions, as well as welcoming Pete to the team.
