Boeing & Airbus 9,000-Airframe Crisis 2018–2026

• 14 CFR §121.9 — Air Carrier Certification Requirements: Mandates that air carriers comply with airworthiness and operational standards. Accurate documentation and verifiable accreditation are non-negotiable; falsified or incomplete certifications are LEGALLY VOID.

Together, these regulations mandate traceable certification, verifiable accreditation, and a documented chain-of-custody for every aircraft. ANAB—or an internationally equivalent accreditation—is required; FAA-issued airworthiness certificates alone do not supersede AS9100 or AI9100 certifications, which cover individual components and assemblies. FAA airworthiness applies only to final evaluation of the airplane, not to the integrity of its underlying production. ANAB's refusal to provide documentation, contradictory statements, and hostile conduct collapsed the entire regulatory and metallurgical chain.

Because ANAB accreditation forms the basis for multi-regional agreements (MRAs) and multilateral recognition systems worldwide, this collapse destabilizes aviation oversight and quality standards globally, not just in the United States.

This is not only an aerospace problem. The failure of accreditation integrity threatens every major industry—from automotive to defense, medical devices, electronics, and energy—wherever ANAB or an internationally equivalent accreditation is required. Worldwide industrial quality, regulatory compliance, and public safety are now directly compromised.

This is what it boils down to under FAA falsification standards: There is no waiver, no exception, and no administrative workaround that can erase the consequences of falsified accreditation.

As a result, these 9,000 airframes cannot legally or safely remain in service, leaving scrapping or permanent grounding as the only technically and legally defensible solution.
