Bloomington: Board of Public Works Approves Temporary Street Closures for LITTLE FIVE Film Production

~ Bloomington's Board of Public Works has given the green light for temporary street closures in support of the production of LITTLE FIVE, a feature film set in Indiana University during the 1980s. The right-of-way special event permit was approved on Tuesday, July 14, allowing filming to take place in Bloomington until August 13, 2026.
The closures will be necessary to accommodate production activities and ensure the safety of cast and crew. The approved closures include Grant Street from 8th Street to 6th Street and 7th Street from Lincoln Street to Dunn Street on Monday and Tuesday, July 20-21. Additionally, Park Avenue from 10th Street to 9th Street will be closed on Monday, July 20.
On Saturday, August 1, filming will take place in the Griffy area. Then on Monday and Tuesday, August 3-4, Kirkwood from Walnut to Indiana and Dunn Street from 6th Street to 4th Street will be closed. Finally, on Tuesday, August 4, the alley between College Avenue and Walnut Street as well as between 7th and 6th Streets will also be closed for filming.

However, due to potential extreme weather conditions during this time period, these dates may shift with approval from the Director of Public Works. Residents should expect temporary changes in traffic flow, parking access, and travel routes near filming locations. Traffic-control measures and signage will be put in place as needed.
The coordination of these temporary closures involves multiple City departments and partner agencies such as Public Works, Engineering, public safety officials, Bloomington Transit, Communications staff responsible for traffic impacts and access permits.
For those interested in participating as film extras in LITTLE FIVE can refer to casting information provided by Pigasus Pictures at bton.in/LITTLE5. For more information about right-of-way impacts during filming visit bloomington.in.gov/inroads/events.
