Axinom and VisualOn Partner to Deliver High-Quality, Low-Bandwidth Streaming at 30,000 Feet
Rezul News/10710694
CUPERTINO, Calif. - Rezul -- Fürth, Germany / San Jose, CA, USA — [August, 6, 2025] — Axinom, a leading provider of modular SaaS solutions for OTT, and VisualOn, a pioneer in AI-enhanced content-adaptive encoding (CAE) and video optimization, have announced a strategic partnership to jointly streamline the delivery of premium VoD content in bandwidth-constrained environments.
Axinom Encoding, part of Axinom Mosaic platform, now natively integrates VisualOn Optimizer, which can be enabled with a single checkbox inside the user interface.
The Optimizer uses per-scene encoding to reduce file size by up to 67%, while maintaining excellent visual quality. VMAF scores stay the same or even improve. Another important aspect: this does not require the latest high-end devices – it works with the most common codecs, like H.264, H.265, and AV1, allowing customers to reach the widest audience. The result: a superior user experience boasting faster streaming, lower delivery costs, and better performance across networks with limited throughput.

One early production use case comes from the aviation sector, where a leading global airline streams VoD content to passengers using LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellite connectivity. In this environment, bandwidth is both technically limited and costly — making file size optimization critical to ensure smooth playback and cost-efficient delivery. By using VisualOn Optimizer within Axinom Encoding, the airline can reliably deliver high-quality video to aircraft while staying within strict bandwidth constraints.
"This collaboration showcases how easily our customers can unlock the power of intelligent encoding," said Johannes Jauch, CTO of Axinom. "With just one setting in the Mosaic management system, they can dramatically reduce bandwidth use without compromising quality — it's high impact with zero friction."
A recent technical analysis from Axinom benchmarked the Optimizer's performance using various encoding methods and test content. The study validated significant bitrate savings alongside consistently high video quality — supported by side-by-side visual comparisons and objective VMAF scoring. With the integration, Axinom strengthens its Mosaic platform — which powers secure ingest, transcoding, DRM, and playback orchestration for major media and travel brands. The partnership further validates VisualOn's NAB-awarded Optimizer, demonstrating its powerful capabilities and seamless effectiveness in highly demanding, bandwidth constrained environments.
As the cost of video delivery continues to rise, smarter, adaptive encoding is becoming a must-have — not just for streaming services, but for any industry where efficient media delivery matters.
