North Canton Residents Warned of 96-Degree Heatwave; Older Homes Face Risk of AC System Failure

NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Rezul -- A heatwave is arriving in North Canton this week, bringing conditions that pose a serious threat to residential air conditioning systems. With temperatures projected to reach 96 degrees on Wednesday, the combination of high heat and humidity can push many AC units to their breaking point.

• Reduce the Cooling Load: Close blinds and curtains during the hottest parts of the day and consider raising the thermostat by a few degrees to alleviate continuous strain on the system.
• Monitor for Warning Signs: Pay attention to early indicators of system failure, such as unusual grinding or squealing noises, weak airflow, or warm air blowing from the vents.
