"I want people to forever fall in love with reading again," says Shirley Stephens. "Not just reading to gather more words, but reading for whole healing: a call to slow down, learn, and rediscover joy in the written word.

"Every book I've written began with reading reading stories that made me think, reflect, and grow. Reading changed my life, and I want others to experience that same transformation."

The campaign was born from a simple but urgent observation: many adults have stopped reading for pleasure, families have fewer shared reading moments, and children are growing up in homes where screens have replaced story time.

For Stephens, reading was never optional. Growing up, reading came before screen time, and when she became a mother, that same tradition continued books before television, stories before noise.
