Expanse Energy Unveils 16 MW Modular Dam-Free Hydropower System
Rezul News/10716730
EEC's new PDHT containerized units achieve 84% efficiency at $2,000/kW CAPEX, delivering fast-deploy, dispatchable baseload power for microgrids, mining, islands, and resilient infrastructure.
WASHINGTON - Rezul -- Expanse Energy Corporation (EEC), a Delaware-registered clean energy innovator, is reshaping global power generation with its Reliable Renewable Power Technology (RRPT) platform. Founded in 2023, EEC is advancing Piston Driven Hydropower Technology (PDHT), a breakthrough system that delivers continuous, dispatchable renewable power without rivers, dams, or elevation. With patents granted and pending, the company is scaling from pilot projects to commercial deployments.
PDHT uses gravity and buoyancy to generate electricity. Water-filled pistons descend to drive turbines, while buoyancy resets recycle the system with minimal input. Unlike conventional hydropower, EEC's closed-loop design needs less than 0.1% daily makeup water and avoids ecological impacts. With 84% efficiency before parasitics, PDHT delivers sustainable, cost-effective power aligned with global decarbonization goals.

The company's Shipping Container (SC) Modularity Concept converts standard 20' and 40' ISO containers into stackable power units. Installations of 5–9 levels enable outputs from 5.6 MW to 16 MW. Built to API/ISO standards for an 85-year lifespan, these units can be deployed within weeks—ideal for mining, islands, defense, and disaster relief.
The economic case is strong. Projected LCOE is $0.045/kWh, lower than solar or wind when dispatchability is considered. Offerings include an 8 MW net system at $16M CAPEX and a 16 MW system at $32M. With High Density Fluid (HDF) enhancement, output rises by 50% or footprint shrinks by one-third, achieving payback in under two years at $0.10/kWh.
Market demand is vast. The World Bank estimates 759 million people lack electricity, while utilities seek dispatchable renewables to stabilize grids. EEC's PDHT platform addresses both challenges—bringing zero-emission baseload to underserved regions and reducing fossil reliance for advanced economies.

Led by CEO Ed Nichols, EEC's 12-person team blends oil and gas engineering with renewable innovation. The company is raising $40M in seed investment to advance from TRL 4 to pilot scale (TRL 5–9) and accelerate commercialization. With strong IP, proven physics, and global partners, EEC is positioned to become a cornerstone of clean energy.
Investors and partners are invited to join EEC in democratizing baseload renewables—stack by stack, watt by watt.
