Rezul News/10683748
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Rezul -- Drake Ready Mix, a family-owned and operated concrete ready mix company, has been announced as an honoree for the 14th Annual GrowFL Florida 'Companies to Watch' Award, which honors high-growth, second-stage companies headquartered in Florida that demonstrate exceptional innovation and potential for future success.
Founded in 2006 by a father-and-son team, Drake Ready Mix operates out of a 10-acre, state-of-the-art production facility with a fleet of 100+ trucks and offers many standard and custom mixes and designs. What started as humble beginnings has now turned into a team of 100 employees with a combined 150+ years of industry experience.
"We are thrilled to be named an honoree for GrowFL's Companies to Watch," said Terry Drake, Jr., president & founding partner of Drake Ready Mix. "While it's a point of pride to have achieved tremendous growth for our team and company, it means even more to know that we've done so while maintaining the level of quality and customer service that's at the foundation of our business. We feel that this award truly underscores our commitment, passion and dedication to providing our community with reliable and quality products and service."

More than 500 nominations were received this year, and 97 companies were selected as finalists. GrowFL then selected Drake Ready Mix to join its list of 50 award honorees. The company was one of just three Lee County businesses named to this year's honoree list.
"GrowFL Florida Companies to Watch is dedicated to recognizing the invaluable contributions of second-stage businesses," said Pete Previte, chair of GrowFL board of directors and broker associate, CRES CORP. "These companies are the driving force behind Florida's economic vitality, fostering job creation, innovation and sustainable growth."
Sponsored by Nperspective CFO & Strategic Services and in partnership with the Edward Lowe Foundation, the GrowFL Florida Companies to Watch award recognizes businesses that significantly contribute to Florida's economic vitality. These companies have overcome challenges, displayed strong leadership, and fostered innovation, making a positive impact on their communities and industries.
GrowFL's Companies to Watch program will celebrate winners with an awards gala on Feb. 27, 2025 at Hard Rock Live, Universal CityWalk in Orlando.
