Crossroads4Hope Welcomes New Trustee to Board of Directors as Organization Celebrates its 25th Year of Caring

Anthony V. Cava brings more than three decades of healthcare leadership to help advance supportive cancer care nationwide.
BEDMINSTER, N.J. - Rezul -- Crossroads4Hope, A Network of Cancer Support (CR4H), is proud to announce the appointment of Anthony V. Cava, MS, RPh, FACHE, to its Board of Trustees, strengthening the organization's leadership at a pivotal moment in its effort to advance supportive cancer care nationwide.
Crossroads4Hope provides whole-person and family supportive cancer care at no charge—including access to oncology social work, child life services, financial assistance, nutrition, education, navigation, and mind-body programs—to individuals and families impacted by cancer across New Jersey, 44 states and seven countries.
"Cancer is more than a medical diagnosis—it creates a profound emotional, social, and practical burden for individuals and families," said Amy Sutton, CEO of Crossroads4Hope. "At Crossroads4Hope, we are working to close the gap in access to supportive cancer care by putting people—not disease—at the center of care and expanding access to the support people need to navigate cancer wherever they live."
"I was drawn to the mission of Crossroads4Hope because of the gap the organization fills in the lives of the families impacted by a life altering cancer diagnosis, filling the needs of people at their most vulnerable time", said Cava.

Mr. Cava is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. He retired in January 2023 after more than 37 years in healthcare administration. Cava joined RWJUH Somerset in 2015 as Chief Administrative Officer, where he helped guide the hospital through significant growth and modernization.
During his tenure, he oversaw major renovations and expansion of patient and clinical services. He also led the opening of New Jersey's first hospital-based primary care center dedicated to serving the LGBTQIA+ community—the Babs Siperstein PROUD Center, which expanded access to inclusive healthcare services across the region.
Prior to joining RWJBarnabas Health, Cava served as Chief Operating Officer of Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel. Earlier in his career he held executive leadership positions at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, Monmouth Medical Center South, and St. Joseph's Hospital in Wayne, overseeing strategic planning, operations, and clinical services.
Cava holds a Bachelor of Science degree from St. John's University College of Pharmacy and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Pharmacy and Administration from St. John's University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health. A registered pharmacist, he is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
"We are honored to welcome Tony to our Board of Trustees as Crossroads4Hope at this pivotal moment in our organizations history and the immense challenge facing patients and their loved ones in today's healthcare environment," Sutton added. "Tony brings a remarkable depth of experience in healthcare leadership, operations, and community engagement. His perspective will be invaluable as we continue working toward a future where whole-person and family-centered supportive cancer care is available to everyone who needs it."
