Congressional Candidate Heavenly Kimes Responds to Married to Medicine Comments on Candidacy: Hell Yeah I'm a Fighter. That's Why I am Running
Rezul News/10721983
ATLANTA - Rezul -- CONYERS, GA — As Dr. Heavenly Kimes's run for Congress continues to gain momentum, the new season of Married to Medicine is generating excitement and new engagement in the race.
Viral show clips of Dr. Kimes navigating her decision to run first for state representative and now for Congress prompted the following response from the candidate:
"Hell yeah I am a fighter. That's why my district needs and why I am running. My Congressman serves in silence while our residents are openly struggling. The incumbent has barely said a word about the impact of federal policies on working families, Georgians, and our country."
"Thousands of people in my district and millions across the country are at risk of losing their health insurance without the ACA subsidies. Republicans are refusing to extend critical subsidies for working families who can't afford health insurance without them — and my Congressman has not spoken on these issues. More than 300,000 Black women have lost their jobs since Trump took office, meaning that those with employer-based healthcare are more reliant than ever on Obamacare — and my Congressman has not addressed this. The Republicans in Congress have not offered a solution to healthcare challenges. Yet, my Congressman does not advocate for our district. This is why I am focused on running for Congress to represent our community," said Dr. Heavenly Kimes in response to a viral clip of comments about her candidacy on Married to Medicine.
