Community Comes Together for Earth Day Clean-Up in Commerce

Local volunteers unite to promote environmental responsibility and safer surroundings
LOS ANGELES - Rezul -- In celebration of Earth Day, a successful community clean-up took place in the City of Commerce, thanks to a collaborative effort by Bridge Publications, Inc., the Commerce Evening Lions Club, and City of Commerce Councilmember Hugo Argumedo.
Bridge Publications, Inc., the publisher of the nonfiction works of international bestselling author L. Ron Hubbard, participated in the initiative, which was inspired by a principle from Mr. Hubbard's common-sense book The Way to Happiness. One of its chapters, "Safeguard and Improve Your Environment," encourages individuals to take responsibility for the cleanliness and care of their surroundings.
The event began with City of Commerce staff arriving early, equipped with trucks and the necessary tools to support the clean-up efforts. Shortly after, volunteers from the community gathered at the site, where they were provided with safety gear and assigned equipment to begin the work.

Participants worked diligently throughout the morning, removing debris and clearing dry weeds from the designated area. Their collective efforts resulted in a visibly cleaner and safer environment for the community.
At the conclusion of the event, Councilmember Hugo Argumedo, along with the President and members of the Commerce Evening Lions Club, expressed their appreciation for the volunteers' hard work and dedication. The transformation of the area stood as a testament to what can be achieved through community collaboration.
Argumedo stated: "This clean-up shows what we can accomplish when we come together with a shared purpose. Taking care of our city starts with each of us, and I'm proud to see the hard working volunteers stepping up to make a real difference here in Commerce."
As a token of gratitude, all volunteers were presented with Certificates of Appreciation by the President of the Commerce Evening Lions Club, recognizing their valuable contributions to the success of the clean-up.
