Blues Legend Stevie Hawkins Wins Best Blues Artist at 2026 Radio Music Awards
Rezul News/10732122
ATLANTA - Rezul -- Renowned legendary blues artist Stevie Hawkins has earned top honors at the 2026 Radio Music Awards, taking home the award for 'Best Blues Artist' for his powerful and deeply moving rendition of "A Song For You." The recognition underscores Hawkins' continued artistic excellence and his growing impact on the global blues stage.
Selected by a panel of respected broadcast judges and blues experts, Hawkins' win reflects both artistic excellence and deep respect for the genre's true traditions.
The Radio Music Awards, founded by Emmy Award–winning TV host, actor, and producer Christopher Ewing, celebrate outstanding independent artists, songwriters, and performers worldwide who have achieved success across terrestrial, satellite, and digital radio without major label support. In an industry often dominated by corporate influence, the Radio Music Awards spotlight artists who rise through talent, authenticity, and determination. Ewing—also known for his acting roles on "All My Children" and "One Life to Live"—leads the Indie Music Channel, a global digital platform, app, and TV network based at Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood, where he hosts programs like Indie Music Cafe and The Radio Cafe, showcasing emerging talent from around the world.

In response to the honor, Hawkins expressed deep gratitude to the Radio Music Awards and its broadcast judges for supporting him and independent music. He shared that his version of "A Song For You" is especially meaningful to him, having played drums for Leon Russell, and that he's thankful it has resonated with listeners worldwide. He credited Rusty Holloway (bass), Levi Adelman (piano), and the Loudermilk Chambers Ensemble for elevating the track and thanked drum tracking recording engineer Don Plummer and bass tracking recording engineer Jordan Foster for their contributions. He also extended special thanks to Grammy-winning mastering engineer Howie Weinberg for his meticulous work in giving the recording its rich, polished sound.
This latest achievement adds to an already distinguished career. Hawkins previously earned two blues awards at the 2026 European International Music Awards and has won an additional twenty-four blues music awards over his career. He was inducted into the International Blues Hall of Fame as a Legendary Blues Artist in April 2024, reinforcing his reputation as one of the genre's most respected voices.
