Mesa, AZ — Award-winning children's author Irma L. Hersel is celebrating a meaningful milestone as her bilingual book, Where Chocolate Grows, is now available at the Mesa Public Library.

Hersel previously received First Place recognition from the Arizona Authors Association for her debut children's book, Where Nopalitos Grow, establishing her as a distinctive voice in multicultural children's literature.

Blending storytelling with culture and curiosity, Where Chocolate Grows introduces young readers to the origins of chocolate while incorporating Spanish words throughout the story. The book also includes interactive activities designed to engage children and families beyond the page.

"I wanted to create something that connects children to culture, learning, and family traditions in a way that feels fun and meaningful," said Hersel.

Ideal for children ages 4–10, the book is especially valuable for bilingual families, educators, and classrooms seeking culturally rich and engaging content.

Hersel is a member of the Arizona Authors Association and continues to write stories that celebrate multicultural experiences and inspire curiosity in young readers.
