Multiplatinum, Grammy ~ The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) has announced the winners of the 2025 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards. Among the honorees is Kendrick Lamar, whose hit song "Not Like Us" has earned him both the ASCAP R&B/Hip-Hop and Rap Song of the Year awards.
Co-written by Mustard and published by Pay DJ Mustard and Sony Music Publishing, "Not Like Us" made history by becoming the first rap song to spend 52 consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song, released in May 2024, continues to hold a spot on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at number 23 and has surpassed over 1 billion streams on Spotify.
Another standout winner at this year's awards is multiplatinum, Grammy-winning superstar Cardi B. She was honored with the prestigious ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award, which recognizes ASCAP members who have had a major influence on music and culture. Cardi B also took home an ASCAP Rhythm & Soul award for her song "Enough (Miami)."

This is not Cardi B's first time being recognized by ASCAP. In 2020, she became the first woman to receive the esteemed ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Songwriter of the Year Award two years in a row. She now adds to her impressive collection of ASCAP accolades, including eight Pop Music Awards and a whopping 23 Rhythm & Soul Music Awards.
At an invitation-only VIP event in Los Angeles, Cardi B accepted her award from ASCAP Executive Vice President & Head of Creative Membership Nicole George-Middleton. The event celebrated all of this year's ASCAP Rhythm & Soul songwriters.
The title of ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Songwriter of the Year went to multiple Grammy-nominated producer and songwriter OZ. The Swiss-native songwriter had a successful year with wins for "First Person Shooter" (Drake), "Lovin On Me" (Jack Harlow), and "I KNOW ?" (Travis Scott).
The ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Gospel Song of the Year was awarded to "That's My King" by Cece Winans, co-written by Taylor Agan and Kellie Besch and published by Bridge Worship, CURB|Word Music Publishing, Essential Music Publishing, Kellie Besch Music, and Taylor Agan Publishing.

In addition to these winners, SONY Music Publishing was named ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Publisher of the Year. Some of their notable songs include "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" by Shaboozey, "Million Dollar Baby" by Tommy Richman, "Enough (Miami)" by Cardi B, and more.
