Zampell Turns 55 & Celebrates its 55th Anniversary!
Rezul News/10509457
NEWBURYPORT, Mass. - Rezul -- Zampell, a family business chiefly involved with the engineering and construction of refractories, insulation, scaffolding, coatings, and corrosion within the industrial and commercial sectors, and facilities management in all sectors, celebrated its 55th anniversary on Jan. 20.
The company credits its hardworking and loyal employees, along with its abiding commitment to quality, to its long-lasting success.
"I would like to thank all our employees for their continued dedication and hard work, especially in the midst of a global pandemic," former CEO and current Chairman of the Board Jim Zampell said. "It's our strong culture and great people that got us to this milestone and will carry us far into the future."
Zampell was founded by Tom Zampell in Beverly, Mass., USA in 1966 as a small service contractor focusing on refractory service for heat treat furnaces and small power and heating boilers. When Jim, his son, took over as president in 1981 at the age of 27, he advanced the business from a small, local enterprise to an international source of innovation and integrity for the company's clients, which include a diversified base of industrial and commercial companies.

After 35 years, Brian Zampell took over as president and CEO in 2016, marking a successful transition to the third generation with a focus on continuing to expand Zampell's diversified offering while remaining true to its core values.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Zampell is looking forward to ongoing growth and expansion. The company last week purchased additional land for the company's Pennsylvania office to dramatically increase its laydown yard for scaffolding as that business continues to grow across a diversified client base. Last year, Zampell also increased warehouse capacity in Louisiana for new corrosion services inventory. Plans are also actively underway to increase warehouse and shop capabilities for Oregon and England in the coming year.
"Last year was certainly unique due to COVID-19, but we had a great fall in 2020, which is carrying right into 2021 across all of Zampell, including our European entities and our affiliate companies like Vulcan Refractories, Zartech, Zampell Facilities Management, and Custodial Partners," Brian Zampell said. "It's great to see that our culture of safety, quality, and integrity was vitally important to our clients in 1966 and is still important today, especially when we all face a global pandemic together."

"It's a great milestone for Zampell to reach 55 years, but most importantly, I want our employees and their families to know that we are thinking of all of them in the midst of this global pandemic, which has impacted everyone who works here at Zampell, along with our many clients and vendors," Brian Zampell continued. "We are thinking of all of you and wish nothing but the best for the safety of you and your families."
