LA28 Unveils Olympic Games Competition Schedule, 161 Ticketed Events to Occur in Long Beach

Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - The Los Angeles Organizing Committee for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games (LA28) has announced the schedule for the upcoming Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The schedule outlines when every medal event will take place, with Long Beach set to host 11 Olympic sporting events.

The city of Long Beach is gearing up to welcome visitors from around the world as it prepares to stage 11 Olympic events. These events will span over 17 of the 19 days of the Games, with a total of 161 ticketed events, including 35 final matches.

Mayor Rex Richardson expressed his excitement for this opportunity, stating, "This is an exciting moment for our community. Long Beach residents will see our city come alive with energy and opportunity as we welcome visitors from around the globe. Together, we'll deliver an unforgettable Olympic experience that showcases our iconic shoreline, our hospitality and the spirit of Long Beach to the world."

The schedule for the 11 Olympic sporting events in Long Beach includes water polo at Long Beach Aquatics Center from July 12-23, handball at Long Beach Arena from July 12-28, rowing at Marine Stadium from July 15-22, target shooting at Long Beach Target Shooting Hall from July 15-25, beach volleyball at Alamitos Beach Stadium from July 15-29, sailing (windsurfing & kite) in Belmont Shore waters from July 16-20, open water swimming along Belmont Shore on July 17-18, rowing coastal beach sprints along Belmont Shore on July 24-25, sport climbing at Long Beach Climbing Theater on July 24-29, artistic swimming at Long Beach Aquatics Center on July 25-29, and canoe sprint at Marine Stadium on July 25-29.

The complete competition schedule for the LA28 Olympic Games can be found on their website la28.org. Ticket registration for the Games will begin in January 2026 on the same website.

The 2028 Olympic Games, hosted by the City of Los Angeles, will take place from July 14 to July 30, 2028. The Paralympic Games will follow from August 15 to August 27, with Long Beach also hosting seven sporting events for the Paralympics.
