JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Dec. 4, 2018 - Rezul -- Apellix, the safety partner for the technological revolution, is proud to announce that it will be discussing their aerial robotics systems on the Ubuntu blog. Ubuntu is the open-source Linux based operating system (OS) and Apellix makes extensive use of Ubuntu in its aerial robotic systems. The Webinar will be at 12 noon December 5th at the following website.

At Apellix we create enormous value for our customers (saving Billions), reduce risk (catastrophic and other), and move workers from harm's way (saving lives). We do this with aerial robotic systems that fly up to a structure, contact it, and do work. Our first products are in the area of nondestructive testing where we ensure the structural integrity and estimated remaining asset life of refineries, cargo ships, aircraft carriers, aboveground storage tanks, bridges, and more.

Most people are unaware that there is a war going on, unseen but very real. This enemy fells bridges, sinks ships, sparks fires, and nearly brought down the Statue of Liberty. Direct costs of corrosion is 3.6% of the US GDP. By innovating toward safety with patented computer controlled aerial robotic systems comprised of a large industrial drone, an articulating robotic arm and an end effector (i.e. hand with tools) to a software-controlled aircraft we perform the dirty, dangerous and expensive work while keeping employees safe on the ground.
Apellix does not change the underlying cleaning, coating or testing technology. We integrate existing technology into our robotics platform and make it work better, safer, faster, and with more robust results. We create economic value by improving on human performance 20 to 50x or more, by eliminating or reducing the need for scaffolding, man-lifts and workers suspended by ropes, by turning high-value assets around quicker, and by bringing science to the worksite. Apellix also stores all project data such as surface temperature, highly accurate locational position information, test results or paint spray flow rates, and even localized hydrocarbon levels in its cloud-based repository. In certain applications, such as testing a 100-meter tall refinery flare stack, our aircraft can save $5 or 10 million dollars in down time, and up to a million dollars in scaffolding costs on a single project.
