MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Feb. 11, 2019 - Rezul -- Today an official appeal was filed with the Tennessee State Board of Education, per state guidelines, regarding the revocation of Gateway University's charter agreement with Shelby County Schools.

Gateway University serves 150 students and families who live throughout Shelby County and love their school. We strive to provide our students with an environment that exudes excellence and promotes growth through a concentration in computer science and IT.

We have promised our students, parents, faculty, staff and community supporters that upon the SCS final vote (which took place last month), we would continue the fight to keep our charter and keep our students together.  This next step of pursuing the appeals process reflects the desire for GU to keep that promise.

Over the course of the next few weeks, we will engage GU parents and community stakeholders through various platforms to keep them abreast of our process and to explore opportunities for our students. However, we are also hopeful that this appeals process will allow us to successfully regain our privileges and keep the doors of Gateway University open for many years to come.
