Elected! Michelle Coss joins the Running USA Board of Directors

Running USA members unanimously elected Michelle Coss, interim president and director of community engagement for the Michigan Fitness Foundation to the Running USA Board of Directors.
LANSING, Mich. - June 21, 2018 - Rezul -- Michelle Coss, Interim President and Director of Community Engagement at the Michigan Fitness Foundation has been elected to the Running USA Board of Directors. "We are pleased to welcome our new directors and look forward to putting them to work for the organization," said Running USA CEO Rich Harshbarger. "Their diverse professional experiences in the industry add varied expertise to our already deep Board of Directors talent pool."
Coss has been a leader in developing running as a statewide habit for Michigan residents, including an active role on the Pure Michigan Fitness campaign. In addition to planning large scale running events such as the Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Run, Capital City River Run, ACES Day and Governor's Fitness Awards, Michelle practices what she preaches as an avid runner and bike commuter. She is a passionate advocate for continuous education in the running industry. "It is an honor to serve on the Running USA Board of Directors and support running on a National level," shared Coss, "I look forward to the collaboration with the RUSA Board and its members in making a measurable impact on the mission."

Running USA members unanimously approved the election of Coss, in addition to Donna Grogan, Vice President of Development and Fundraising, Lupus Foundation of America of Washington D.C., and Tony Yamanaka, VP of Operations, Event Southwest of Austin, Texas. All will serve a two-year term, which will begin July 1, 2018 and conclude June 30, 2020.
Running USA is devoted to improving the status and experience of distance running and racing in the United States through collective marketing and promotions, information and communications within the industry and to the national media, services to events and industry members, and the development of American world class stars. It seeks the advancement of the sport and the provision of value to each of its members' events and businesses.
The Michigan Fitness Foundation and the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness work to inspire active lifestyles and healthy food choices through education, environmental change, community events and policy leadership.
