Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group's 2020 Philanthropic Initiatives

TRINITY, Fla. - Rezul -- Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties (http://www.bhhsfloridaproperties.com/) Group is very dedicated to giving back to the local community and made sure the year 2020 was no different. A devastating year for so many- the agents, staff, and consumers of BHHS FLPG was more than generous. "One of our company goals is to give back to the communities in which we live and work," said Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group Broker/Owner Dewey Mitchell. "Our goal for the future is to continue to strengthen our partnerships with non-profit organizations and provide even more hope for local residents and families."

In February, they hosted a week called "Be the Sunshine" week, where each office picked a non-profit organization or volunteer program. Together as a group, they volunteered for the day. Collectively, they were able to volunteer at all of the below in just one week!

• Met Min Volunteer Days
• Paso Campus
• Volunteer Engagement Center
• Habitat for Humanity
• New Beginnings Thrift Shop
• Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranches
• St. Pete Beach Clean Up
• Feeding Tampa Bay

In June the company's annual Sunshine Kids Clay Shoot event was a huge success. They were able to raise over $25,000 for the Sunshine Kids Foundation, which is a foundation that supports children with cancer and provides positive & fun activities for children outside of their hospitals. This organization is one that BHHS FLPG has been involved with for over 20 years. In addition to the Clay Shoot event, the staff & agents donations totaled $35,715 for all of 2020.

At the end of 2020, BHHS FLPG completed its 5^th annual Cabernet Sleigh drive, a company-wide holiday initiative benefitting Metropolitan Ministries. Driving a U-Haul truck, Owners Allen Crumbley and Dewey Mitchell as well as some other elves (staff members) delivered 6,000 pounds of food, over 2,000 toys, and over $4,000 in gift cards and cash to the local nonprofit, Metropolitan Ministries. These items were collected by the agents, staff, and consumers. In addition to the Cabernet Sleigh, the company also did a "Backpacks of Hope" drive for Metropolitan Ministries where the offices collected thousands of items for children in need of back to school supplies.
